The town of Maglaj is at 130 km in the north of Sarajevo. During the last aggression in Bosnia, the territory of the town of Maglaj was encircled by the Serbian and Croatian forces and was left isolated. Because of the continued attacks, many buildings in the city of Maglaj came off severely destroyed.

Before the war the town of Maglaj had 43.000 inhabitants, now they are 26.000. Besides the city of Maglaj the town consists in 20 small rural communities and thirty villages. The city of Maglaj has near 12.000 inhabitants, many of them youngsters.

Due to the line of war front was near Maglaj, many inhabitants abandoned their homes and many public equipments were destroyed and plundered. The same happened with many rural sanitary equipment.

In the town of Maglaj one intensifies the efforts to make possible the return to their homes of the moved people. An indispensable condition to make it possible is to be able to assure basic sanitary attention to the returned ones.

The village of Novi Šeher is at 18 km of Maglaj. Before the war the dispensary gave sanitary coverage to 9.000 inhabitants of 10 nearby villages.

If all the medical equipment has been plundered, the building of the dispensary has not been too much spoiled by the war. Unfortunately, some severe floods in July of the last year provoked important damages in the elements of construction and in the equipment.

To make possible the return to these villages of the moved inhabitants it is necessary to restore and to equip the dispensary with the furniture and the indispensable medical equipment.

According to the town councilor of Reconstruction and Development of the town of Maglaj, the most urgent now consists of the restoration of the building. Once restored, the indispensable equipment will have to be acquired for improving its operation:

Medical equipment for a consulting of general medicine (medical bunk, shelving and table for the instruments, mobile light, otoscope, ophthalmoscope, stethoscope, blood pressumeter and small case of doctor).
Medical equipment for a laboratory of hematology and biochemistry (pharmaceutical scale, analytical scale, dryer, binocular microscope, fridge, spectrophotometer, measurer of pH etc)
Medical equipment for a consulting of general stomatology (chair of dentist, tray for instruments, sterilizer, instruments of dental exploration, whole set of instruments, recipients and bottles of dentist)
Medical equipment for a pharmacy (table of recipes, pharmaceutical scales, shelves for medicines, table of laboratory, sterilizer, purifier of water, recipients and flasks of pharmacy)
Medical equipment for a consulting of gynaecology (table of gynaecology, colposcope, microscope, whole set of instruments)
Medical equipment for a consulting of medical interventions (medical bunk, tray for instruments and medicines, mobile table for instruments, medical scale, whole set of instruments for minor surgery, device of oxigen, mobile light, sterilizer, blood pressumeter, stethoscope, device of electrocardiogram, recipients and bottles, portable bag of infirmary, fridge, bunk of transport etc)
